New Westchester County Wrestling's Mission Statement

Although the NWC was already represented in the city of New York by LCW , the outlying areas of Westchester and Rockland counties, Long Island, northern New Jersey, and southwestern Connecticut had no NWC or NWCal region to call their own until NWCW was founded. Now that the NWCal has split from the NWC to become the Coalition of Affiliated Leagues (CAL), the surburbs of New York have a top-caliber federation of their own.

New Westchester County Wrestling, named after Westchester County so as to preserve its NWCW (New Wave Chicago Wrestling) name and heritage, but serving all the areas above, seeks to make money by capitalizing on the provincial attitudes of those living just outside New York proper, who prefer not to support any company associated with the city itself. We already know this works...look at the New Jersey Devils and Nets, as well as the New York Islanders.
There was also a bit of opportunistic value early on, since HKW had recently left the area and there was an NWCal fan base within the city to be capitalized on as well.

Oh, wait. That's not the noble-sounding mission tht belongs on the website. We would appreciate your forgetting you read that last paragraph. Here is what we want you to read:

New Westchester County Wrestling, named after Westchester County so as to preserve its NWCW (New Wave Chicago Wrestling) name and heritage, but serving all the areas above, was founded to provide first-quality wrestling especially for the people living just outside the city of New York. We recognize that so much of the flavor of the vibrant metropolis that is New York actually lies in the suburbs and smaller neighboring cities, and we feel the people of Greater New York deserve the same great action that can be found in the city, in their own back yard. Well not literally. We do not endorse backyard wrestling because it is dangerous, and we are not responsible for backyard/trampoline wrestling-related injuries.
We also hoped upon our founding to take the place of HKW, which had moved to Phoenix to join the NWC, in the hearts of NWCal fans in the New York area. Now as a part of the CAL, suburban New Yorkers finally have a major regional federation to call their own.
